The Hong Kong Association for Infant Mental Health Limited (HKAIMH) was established in December 2014 as a company limited by guarantee in Hong Kong. The Founders of the Association are a group of professionals, which include clinical psychologists, educational psychologist, psychiatrists, pediatricians, occupational therapist, and psychiatric nurse. They are all clinicians working directly with infants/young children and their families in the daily clinical practice.
The Association was granted exemption from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance as a charity institution in January 2015. The financial management of the Association mainly relies on the membership fee and the sponsorships from various Foundations.
Our Missions
- To promote infant mental health knowledge among related professions and the general public 
- To facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among professionals working with young children and their families 
- To advance the standard of teaching, training and practice of infant mental health in Hong Kong 
- To encourage high standard research in infant mental health 
- To act as an advocate for the socioemotional and cognitive well-being of infants and young children 
- To link with international associations for infant mental health 
Our Work Plan
- To disseminate public education through media such as the internet, publication of pamphlets, column writing, etc. 
- To hold in-house training, including commissioned training, regular study groups, case sharing and etc. 
- To organise professional training to medical and allied health professionals, child care service workers, and other child-related workers/ professionals.
